Hello from Enville! I hope you all are having a great week. The temperatures were cooler as we started the week, and we had some sunshine, but I think rain is in the forecast for later this week.
Friday, June 19, is Juneteenth National Independence Day. It is a federal holiday in the United States that is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Federal offices are closed on this day in observance of Juneteenth.
Summer begins on June 21, which is also Father’s Day. Let’s celebrate both these holidays altogether. Summer is the warmest and brightest of the four seasons. Characterized by long days, short nights and peak vegetative growth, summer extends through June, July and August. June 21 will be the longest day of the year. Most people will spend more time outdoors, swimming, camping or barbecuing. There will also be more traveling, vacationing and just enjoying the warmer weather. Because of the intense heat, be cautious when outside. Use sunscreen, stay hydrated and avoid peak heat hours (Wikipedia). Enjoy your summer and stay safe!
Several of us Enville folks enjoyed our Finley Reunion on Sunday in Adamsville. There were lots of kinfolk from other places as well. We had about 60 in attendance. We had lots of delicious food and great fellowship with each other. We always enjoy our time spent together. Family reunions are getting rarer as the years go by, so I hope you all can and do get together from time to time to keep the tradition going.
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to David Milford on June 19 and Josh Trammell on June 20. Happy Anniversary to Edward and Tiffany Jones on June 21. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Harold Maness, Robert Smith, Robert Johnson, Aiden Culpepper, Tommy and Linda Wade, James Vinson, Harold and Carolyn Wright, Rick and Julie Ooley, Mary Lou Avent, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Joan Massey, Mike Finley, all who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, our county, country and, as always, each other.
