Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great Father’s Day weekend. We celebrated on Sunday with all our family at church; then, we all gathered at our house and had grilled hamburgers and hotdogs with all the trimmings. We finished up with homemade ice cream and apple pie. Everyone enjoyed being together to celebrate Danny and our son-in-law, Kelley!
It is supposed to be a rainy week. It rained almost all day on Monday, but I hope we do not get rain every day.
We want to congratulate Jackson Grant on being awarded our Enville Community Club scholarship. Jackson was a graduate of Adamsville High School. He is the son of Jamie and Trixie Grant and grandson of John and Anna Dennis, all from Enville. We are happy to do this for a deserving graduating senior to advance in their education. Congratulations, Jackson!
We are proud of our grandson, Blake Thompson, who has completed his welding classes from Henderson TCAT. He managed to work a full-time job and attend school. This takes a lot of discipline and dedication. He plans to further his education and work in an apprenticeship. Congrats, Blake!
The July Fourth holiday is approaching fast. The Fourth of July is a federal holiday in the United States celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. It is traditionally celebrated with fireworks, backyard barbecues and family gatherings. There will be a lot of river activities, camping and boating. America 250 Celebrations will be happening all over the USA. Our local Chester County celebration will be on June 27 on the Chester County Courthouse lawn. This will take place from noon until 9 p.m. All Chester County communities are invited to set up tables with the history of their towns along with pictures or memorabilia. There will be music, entertainment, living history exhibits and reenactors, food trucks and treats, a parade, tree dedicated and fireworks. Please attend if you can!
Happy birthday wishes go to Melinda Johnston and Melissa Holder on June 26. Happy anniversary to Harold and Frankie Finley on July 2. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the family of my cousin, Shirley Hardin, and continue prayers for Harold Maness, Robert Smith, Robert Johnson, Aiden Culpepper, Tommy and Linda Wade, James Vinson, Harold and Carolyn Wright, Rick and Julie Ooley, Mary Lou Avent, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Joan Massey, Mike Finley, all who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, our county, country and, as always, each other.
