Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a good week. Fall begins next Tuesday, Sept. 22, and I truly hope it brings cooler temperatures with it. This week is hot. Monday was 99 with heat indexes well over 100, as is practically all week. It is hard to think of Fall decorating with these hot temperatures.
Our family enjoyed celebrating our daughter April Collins’s birthday at Hagy’s last weekend. We had a great meal and fun taking some pictures by the river. We missed the ones who were not there!
I attended the Enville Methodist Church women’s prayer breakfast last Saturday. It was a very good devotional with great breakfast sandwiches from Maggie’s. They have this event every second Saturday of each month and would love for ladies from Enville and surrounding areas to come join in the great fellowship, food and devotionals.
The Enville Baptist Church is having their annual fish fry at 5 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 19. James White will be cooking up some of his delicious fish, and trimmings will be served with it. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the food and fellowship! It is a free event.
The Enville Baptist Church is having a “No Sale” Yard Sale from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at the church at 8395 Main Street. All items are free to those in need. Come, Take and Bless Someone. It is not about buying; it is about sharing! Coffee will be available, and everyone is welcome! Contact Gay Goelz for donations or questions.
Happy birthday wishes go to James G. Vinson on Sept. 21 and Araea Bishop on Sept. 24. We hope you both enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Harold Maness, Robert Smith, Robert Johnson, Tommy and Linda Wade, James Vinson, Harold and Carolyn Wright, Rick and Julie Ooley, Mary Lou Avent, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Mildred Goodwin, Anita Needler, baby Maven Vaughn, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, military, schools and school board, our county and country, all who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
Have a blessed week everyone!
