Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a good week. The little dab of rain we got helped a little. We did not get enough to help much, but we are looking for more!
Chester County schools will be on Fall Break next week. I hope all students and faculty will have a safe and great week!
Monday, Oct. 12, will be Columbus Day, a U.S. federal holiday that commemorates Christopher Columbus’s landing in the Americas on Oct. 12, 1492. It is observed on the second Monday in October. Columbus Day was made an official federal holiday following a 1968 proclamation signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson that took effect in 1971. Many will have the day off work. I hope you all enjoy it!
A group of folks went to the Smokey Mountains last week. The Milledgeville Community Christian Church chartered a bus and made all reservations for a great trip. They went to Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede and to the big gospel singing convention in Pigeon Forge. They did some sightseeing and shopping. Several of our Enville folks took this trip and had a great time. Glad you all had good weather and are home safely!
Happy birthday to Evan Jones on Oct. 9, my sister Joan Massey on Oct. 11, the U.S. Navy on Oct. 13, Wayne Poupard and Ricky Holder on Oct. 14 and Judy Pugh on Oct. 15. Happy anniversary to Hunter and Brooke Harwell on Oct. 11 and our kids, Kelley and April Collins, on Oct. 14. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
On our prayer list is Harold Maness, Robert Smith, Robert Johnson, Tommy and Linda Wade, James Vinson, Harold and Carolyn Wright, Rick and Julie Ooley, Mary Lou Avent, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Kaye Killingsworth, Mildred Goodwin, Anita Needler, Kaye Ritter, Gerald and Phyllis Russom, baby Maven Vaughn, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, military, schools and school board, our county and country and, as always, each other.
Have a blessed week everyone!
