Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a great week! We have had some needed rain. This makes the crops, gardens and grass grow. I hope it is not too much for some things. We did not think anything in our garden was going to come up, but after some rain, we have squash and cucumbers, and our tomatoes and peppers are looking good.
July is moving right along, and soon school will be starting. Seems like they just got out. The summer break is going way too fast!
Our Enville Wild Goose Shindig is fast approaching. It will be from 4-8 p.m. Aug. 26. We will have barbeque and trimmings, barbeque chicken, bologna, hamburgers and hotdogs. There will be a snow cone/shaved ice truck set up to cool us off for the hot temperatures. There will be a corn hole tournament with a prize for the winner, cakewalk, silent auction and music with Bo Jack Killingsworth. Mark your calendars and come out to support your local fire department and community club!
Charlie’s New York Pizza is setting up in different towns on Mondays. Watch his Facebook page for locations!
Happy birthday wishes go to Charlie Cona on July 15 and Nick Weatherington on July 16. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Our prayer concerns this week are for Lisa Bishop, Robert and Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Nicole Thompson, Emily Freeman, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Loretta Plunk, Robert and Linda Johnson, Max and Jean Pickett, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, James Vinson, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Tim Harris, Bryce Finley, Donald Finley, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, our county and country and, as always, each other.
