David Glenn Collins, 65, passed away May 5, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Trinity Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
He was the son of Patricia Davidson Ashworth and the late Rayford Glenn Collins. A lifelong resident of Henderson, he graduated from Chester County High School in 1979. He later attended TN College of Applied Technology where he received a diploma in HVAC. He was the owner of Collins Refrigeration and AC.
As a young boy, he enjoyed driving his truck, riding motorcycles and listening to classic rock. He was a Boy Scout and went to camp in Philmont, N.M. He was awarded the Bronze Palm Medal as an Eagle Scout.
He leaves behind his mother, Patricia Davidson Ashworth; a sister, Lisa (William) Byrnes; one brother, Jeff Pounds; his aunt, Linda Bailey; cousins, Robert “Sonny” (Gina) Bailey and Steven (Beverly) Bailey; four nieces; a cousin; and his loving companion, Dorothy Miller.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mabel and Willard Davidson.
