
Mrs. Frances Yvonne Wilcoxson Davis, 83, of Springboro, Ohio, passed away Sept. 4, 2023, at BeeHive Assisted Living in Springboro, Ohio.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Dr. Billy Smith officiating.
Burial followed at Henderson City Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 9-11 a.m. service time on Friday.
She was born in Florence, Ala., June 13, 1940, daughter of the late Jess Menton and Jessie Hagan Young Wilcoxson. She grew up in Florence and Georgia, then moved to Henderson in 1956 and was a 1958 graduate of CCHS.
She attended Freed Hardeman College and then David Lipscomb College, graduating in 1962 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
She began her teaching career in 1962 in Memphis, then Little Rock, Ark., then moved back to Henderson in 1979. She taught History at Chester County High School, retiring in 2006. She was a very patriotic person who was known for her elaborate decorations in red, white, and blue. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was an officer in the Beta Club, was involved with the Girls Scouts and was a leader of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship.) She was an active member of the Rotary Club and was very active in the Henderson Church of Christ and the Centerville Church of Christ in Centerville, Ohio. Her true passion was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn (Mark) Sisco of Suwanee, Ga., and Susan (Todd) Music of Springboro, Ohio.; a sister, Jane Maness of Germantown; six grandchildren, Emily (Dale) Lipscomb, Katie (Mitchell) Blanchard, Clayton Music, Jess (Mary Rose) Music, Paul (Alyssa) Music and Elizabeth Music; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
