Mr. Frank Clayton passed away peacefully at home on the morning of July 27.
He was the son of the late Odell and Georgia Patterson Clayton and the beloved husband of Diann Meek Clayton. He and Diann married June 8, 1963, and have been married for 62 years. They have two sons, Stan and Mark.
He lived his life and raised his family in the Hickory Corner Community.
He worked in the manufacturing industry for the first few years of his married life and in construction as a residential plumber and electrician for the following 30 years. He ended his career retiring from the State of Tennessee in the Electrical Maintenance Department.
He enjoyed traveling, playing cards with friends and family, going to the CC Senior Center but, most of all, being a Papaw.
He was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was an active member of the congregation. He was loved by his family and his friends and rarely met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Diann; his sons Stan (Kim King) and Mark (Tonya Bain); five grandchildren, Hillary (Joey) Gildea, Nathan (Shannon) Clayton, Dylan (Kelsey) Clayton, Natalie (Jonathan) Leland and Jada King; 10 great-grandchildren, Ava Grace North-Hall, Brinkley Hall, Tyler Gildea, Madalyn Clayton, Lennox Gildea, Carter Clayton, Connley Gildea, Deklyn Clayton, Carsyn Clayton and Collin Clayton; three brothers, Dinnos (Becky), Clayton, Guy (Debbie) Clayton and Paul Clayton; and three sisters, Mayrene Holmes, Phyllis (Billy) Holmes and Kathy (Ronnie) Meek.
He is preceded in death by his father, Odell; his mother, Georgia; two sisters, Hazel Clayton and Evelyn Weaver; and four brothers, Gerald Clayton, Gene Clayton, Earl Clayton and Aves Clayton.
