Freeman Keith Kidder, 85, passed away at his home Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Jim Gardner and Ray Pack officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday.
He was born in Hanover, N.H., raised in Bradford, Vt., the son of the late Keith Albion Kidder and Nora Mae Thurston Kidder. He married Sheila Morey in 1961.
He was a civil engineer and a licensed surveyor. He worked mostly on interstates and highways in Vermont. He served six years in the Vermont Army National Guard. He oversaw building the church building in Quechee, Vermont. He had served as preacher, teacher and song leader among the Churches of Christ. They moved to Henderson in 2006 were members of the South Jackson Church of Christ.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing things with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sheila Ann Morey Kidder; a son, Carleton (Cindy) Kidder of Finger; one brother, Fred Kidder; and three sisters, Mary Goodine, Vera Merritt and Alice Stockwell.
