Hello to everyone reading this paper. It is always a blessing to be a part of your lives. Why? Because you are my family and friends, and this is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it! I hope and pray you had a great week. Even as we continue to pray for the families that were affected by the tornadoes that swept through so many counties last week, one thing I do know is that God works all things together for good because we serve a MIGHTY GOD!
Please forgive me for not having a column last week! I lost track of time. Frank, LaWanna and I took a trip to Louisiana! We had a wonderful time together as a family! I played with a baby alligator, and I later tried alligator meat! It is true; the meat does taste just like chicken!
The month of April is here? Where did the time go? As Bishop T. J. Jakes would say, “Get Ready, Get Ready!” Tuesday, April 15, is Tax Day. It will be a sad day for so many, especially for those who will have to give IRS more of their money! But look on the bright side, the Lord has blessed you to have the funds to give, and if you do not the Lord will make a way. To everyone that received the BIG checks from IRS, please use them wisely and do not forget to put some back for a rainy day.
Have you ever asked the question, “What is so special or unique about our community?” Let me just share a few things with you. It is unique because it is home to so many unique people like you! I am constantly meeting people who are so nice, and I have met some that are not so nice. You know what I do? Pray for them and put them in the Lord’s hands and keep it moving!
In my last column, I told you about a very nice lady by the name of Netha Ross. If you have someone in your life that you would like to share your story about, please let me know.
This week, I do not have much to write about. I want to let you know that I love you, that you are amazing because you are here for such a time as this and for such a place as right where you are and that you are making a difference. My grandmother always told me to, “Keep the faith and hold on to the Lord’s hands!”
The city would like to say Happy Birthday to my nephew Dimitric Carter Brown, 4/26, and Amy Alvis, 4/28. We pray the Lord will bless you with many more.
On the prayer list this week is Mary Armstrong. She is in Jackson General on life support. Please pray for Mary’s children and her sister and brothers. I know this is a hard time for them! Pray for people you know that are in the hospitals, for the ones that are sick in their homes, for our children, teachers and families, for the men and women that are serving our country and for the incarcerated.
If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. You can text me at 608-6132.
This week, I want to leave you with this prayer: “God our Father, in this world we sometimes grow weary and discouraged; in the moments when we want to give up, fill us with Your strength to keep going. When our eyes can’t see the light, show us new hope. When our hearts don’t seem like they can take any more, take all that weights us down and lift us up with Your love! Amen.”
I LOVE ALL OF YOU! YOU HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART!
