Greetings to the People of Chester County everywhere! As we embark on a new week, I give thanks to the Lord for being with you in your homes, at your jobs or wherever you find time to read this message. It is truly a blessing to be part of your lives. How was your week? I hope and pray it was a wonderful one. If your day has not gone as planned, remember that you have the power to turn it around. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!
A heartfelt “Congratulations!” to our Chester County High School Class of 2025! As Walt Disney said, “All our dreams can come true; if we have the courage to pursue them.” Let us pray for the protection of our young adults and teenagers as they navigate life’s journey.
I hope all the mothers had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I certainly did thanks to my husband, Frank, LaWanna, Glorina and Maria; our oldest daughter from D.C. surprised me and came home! We had an amazing time! My family showered me with love through calls, videos and gifts, reminding me that their appreciation goes beyond special occasions. This is always with our family!
As we approach Memorial Day on May 26, let us remember its true significance. This holiday honors the lives of U.S. soldiers and military personnel who sacrificed everything for their country. Originally commemorated after the American Civil War, it serves as a reminder of the bravery of those who have fought in all wars.
Congratulations to the new elected American Legion Davidson-Haltom Post 157 of Henderson Officers: Commander Chris Dunbar, Vice Commander Brian Hogg, Adjutant Danny Eldridge, Chaplain Paul Boucher, Finance Officer Danny Eldridge, Sergeant at Arms Tony Barry, Post Service Officer Gloria Holiday, and Paul Martin appointed by commander as Public Information Officer.
The American Legion in Henderson will host a special program starting at 11 a.m. on May 26. The program is titled “The Enormous Cost of the American Revolution 1775 - 1783” and will be held in the Council Chambers of Henderson City Hall (second floor). Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women of the U.S. military who have sacrificed their lives for our country. Originally commemorating those lost in the Civil War, this day now pays tribute to all military personnel who have died in service. If you are a veteran interested in joining, please contact Commander Chris Dunbar at 608-5547.
Happy Birthday shouts out to everyone that had a birthday this week. It is a blessing, and we pray the Lord will bless all of you with many more.
Ms. Valerie Griggs is requesting prayer for her sister Ms. Glenda Atkins, her cousin Mrs. Ethel Croom, Mrs. Emma Ross, Mr. Jimmy Howard, Ms. Joann Cawthon and Mrs. Janice Pirtle; she is asking prayer for her family as well. Continue to pray for people that are in the hospitals, for the ones that are sick in their homes, for our children, teachers and families, for the men and women that are serving our country, for the incarcerated and for the bereaved families everywhere. Please remember to support local businesses and keep our community strong. If you have news or announcements, please call me and leave a message or text me at 608-6132. As I leave you, please stay safe, stay positive and remember you are powerful! May you have a blessed week ahead!
