Hello to everyone! It is a blessing to be here with you another week for this is the day the Lord has made!
Well, it is almost here. August will soon begin, and what does that mean? For the children and teachers here in Chester County, it means that vacation is over. Children, no more sleeping in; the bus will be arriving early to pick you up at the bus stop, or parents will be taking their children to school. Some will be driving to school; whatever the mode of transportation may be, please just be safe and watch out for the other person.
To the Principals, Teachers, Secretaries, Teacher Assistants, Grandmothers, Bus Drivers, Bus Maintenance, Cooks, Janitors and other Faculty Members, the City would like to let you know how much we appreciate you. Thank you for choosing this career to teach our children, feed them, drive them to school and clean up after them. It takes special people to do what you do!
City of Henderson, let us pray for the calendar school year of 2025-26: Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts as we prepare for the new academic year of 2025-26. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over every student, teacher, administrator, and staff member involved in education. Shield our schools from harm and guide every step taken within their walls. Grant safety to every classroom, hallway, bus route and playground. Cover our students with Your peace and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We pray for obedience, that students will have respectful hearts, a willingness to learn, and an eagerness to grow in wisdom and character. Let there be cohesiveness in all relationships, between student and student, let there be kindness, unity and respect. Between student and teacher, let there be mutual understanding and encouragement. Between teacher and teacher, let there be support and collaboration. Between teacher and administrators, let there be clear communication, shared vision, and harmony. Lord, we ask for an increase in student attendance, that every child may receive the education they need and be surrounded by love and opportunity. Strengthen all workers within the educational system, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians, counselors, aides, and others. Bless their labor and let them feel valued. And above all, Father, we lift up the families of our students. May You bless them with joy, peace, prosperity and love. Strengthen homes and provide what each family needs spiritually, emotionally and financially. Let Your presence dwell in every household connected to our schools. We commit this school year to You, O Lord. Go before us, walk with us, and surround us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
On our prayer list, let us continue to pray for our dear friend Mrs. Margaret Locke. I received some good news. She is a little bit better; however, I do understand she is not out of the woods yet! Keep her husband Larry and her daughter in your prayers. Mrs. Ethel Croom is still in the hospital as well. There has been some improvement. Keep praying for these two ladies. The city of Henderson loves you!
Happy Birthday to Sandy Day July 29. We pray that the Lord will bless you with many more!
Let us all do our part to patronize our local businesses here in town. Supporting our own strengthens our community, so let us keep it local whenever we can!
