Greetings! I am glad to be with you for another week. It is only by the grace of our Lord and Savior. For this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! Since the last time we were together, there has been so much destruction and hate in the U.S.A. and around the world. So, no matter what is going on in our/your life today, look around and realize you/we are blessed!
Well, I know I was not with you last week, and I do apologize. It was a very busy week, and I missed the deadline. Since then, my husband and I have been to his hometown in Texas for a funeral of a loved one, so please keep us up in your prayers.
Monday, Sept. 22, was the first day of Fall. This is my favorite time of the year! I am looking forward to seeing all the beautiful fall decorations in the city!
On Sept. 19, we celebrated a young lady’s birthday. Some of you may know her very well – Mrs. Sylvia Flowers. This young lady is the owner of “Tender Loving Child Care Center,” the wife of Apostle Marles Flowers and mother to 12 children. She is the District Missionary for the Jackson Central Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ. She is one of the Chester County Election Commissioners for the Democratic Party. This little lady loves the Lord and people. The city of Henderson would like to say thank you for all you have done and all you do for the city of Henderson. Happy 64 years on this earth! Just think, next year you will be able to join the big league and receive your RED, WHITE and BLUE card! If we still have it!
City of Henderson, please pray for Mr. Taze Lofton. He is one of the pillars in the city of Henderson. Mr. Lofton and his family are very special to the Brown family and to so many other families. Mrs. Lofton was a teacher for so many of us. We need to pray that Taze will get strong in his body and that the Lord will heal him completely from his head to his toes; in Jesus’s name, amen! Keep the whole family in prayer!
I have another family we need to pray for as well. This family lives in Martin. The family name is Milliner. Pray for the healing and for the Lord to keep them during this time of their life.
Do not forget that on Sept. 26-27 the Henderson/Chester County Chamber of Commerce kickes off 47th Annual Chester County BBQ Festival. I know it will be a great event. Hope to see you there!
Here is a little reading that I love, and I would like to share it with you. “God, soothe us with Your love. Protect us from bitterness. Show us when it’s time to wisely guard our hearts and when we’re to keep our arms stretched open wide just as You did when You died for us. Amen!”
On the birthday list this week: a big Happy Birthday to Larry Locke, 9/30; he is proud to be 76 years young! This is a man that loves the Lord! He is the proud husband of the late Margaret Locke. Larry, we love you and, to God be the Glory, you are still moving and looking good. Your daughter, family and friends are praying that the Lord will bless you with many more! Have a blessed birthday! Happy belated birthday to Latonia Croom, 9/20; John Curry, 9/23; my dear friend Ethel Croom who celebrated on 9/26; and Linda Curry, 9/26. May the Lord keep on blessing you to see many more years!
Remember to keep praying for our loved ones that are in the hospitals, for the ones that are sick in their homes, for our children, teachers and families and for the men and women who are serving our country. Please patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
I would like to say thank you to the ones that are calling and emailing me with your news. Keep it up and send me more. If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Text me at 608-6132 and leave your message
HAVE A GREAT WEEK! LOVE YOU!
