Hello to my family and friends. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! It is a blessing to be with you one more day. Was it not a beautiful day on Monday morning? The sun was just gorgeous in the beautiful, blue sky. I call it liquid sunshine! Thank you, Lord, for the rain.
I am looking forward to spring, and it will be here on March 20. Ever wonder why spring feels like a breath of fresh air? Well, it is not just about the warmer weather or the flowers blooming. Spring season packs a punch with its fascinating facts that can make anyone’s day brighter. From the science behind the equinox to traditions celebrated around the globe, spring is full of surprises. Spring season is not just a time for cleaning out closets; it is a period of renewal, growth and astonishing natural phenomena. Ready to shake off the winter chill and leap into a world brimming with life? Hang tight and give God the Glory because spring’s wonders are just around the corner, and life is beginning!
Great things are happening in the next two weeks. March 23-27 is Chester County’s spring break for all students. Parents, get ready to enjoy your child/children for a week at home! Start planning now. Before you know it, they will be young adults, so, parents, get involved with your child/children and enjoy them while you can!
Thank you to James Bright, our County Historian! The picture from the past in last week’s Independent was phenomenal! It was wonderful to see my Principal, Mr. Trice and the family and friends of so many families that I remember as a child. I would love to see more pictures like this in the paper. Thank you, Ms. Wade, Ms. Edna Johnson and Ms. Jo Ann Jones, for remembering the pioneers from the past that help mold us for a time like this!
The Henderson Chester County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the upcoming Candidate Forum to be held on Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m. in the Henderson City Hall, 121 Crook Ave, Henderson. The forum will provide an opportunity for candidates to introduce themselves and share their vision with you, so mark your calendars to attend! Thank you, Chamber, for believing this event is an important service to our community. It offers voters a convenient and nonpartisan setting to hear directly from those seeking office, learn about their priorities and better understand how their leadership may impact the local business climate, economic growth and overall quality of life in Chester County.
The City of Henderson would like to say congratulations to some of the finest faculty and staff we have here in Chester County schools. At Chester County High School, we have Ms. Darin Leath; at Chester County Junior High, Ms. Amber Murley; at Chester County Middle School, Ms. Tiffany Barton; at East Chester, Ms. Diane Burkeens; at Jacks Creek Elementary, Ms. Halley Thomas; and at West Chester Elementary, Ms. Misty Hall. These remarkable ladies have been selected as the Faculty and Staff of the Month for February at their respective schools. They are also the ones to be recognized for Women History Month for this week! Thank you for your dedication and hard work!
March is a special month for several wonderful individuals in our community! The City of Henderson would like to wish a very happy birthday to a very sweet lady, Audria Brown Dunn on March 14; a dear friend, Jerry King, on March 14; a dear friend, Liberty DeFilippo, on March 28; Wanda Martin a Head Start Teacher in Chester County on March 29; Dakota Gower, son of Penny and the late Danny Gower, on March 28; and another dear friend, Chanelle Alexander, on March 21. Your friends, family and the City would like to say, “May the Lord bless all of you to see many more birthdays.” Remember that you are getting “younger” and “better” each day!
Thought for today: “In every circumstance of our lives we still have the same Savior! The One who loves us. The One who knows us! The One whose promises never fail!”
Please continue to pray for our United States, our children, teachers and families, the men and women that are serving our country, our first responders, the incarcerated and anyone you know who needs prayer. If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Please text or call 608-6132 and leave your message
HAVE A GREAT WEEK! LOVE YOU! TELL SOMEONE YOU LOVE THEM AS WELL!
