Hot bats, strong arms: Lady Eagles soar over USJ 10–1

Posted

The CCJHS Lady Eagles wasted no time setting the tone Monday night, jumping on the USJ Lady Bruins and never letting up in a 10–1 victory.
An early miscue by USJ gave the Eagles their first run in the opening inning, but it was the second inning where CCJHS really flexed their power at the plate. The lineup strung together six hits in the frame — with big swings from Karsyn Reynolds (double), Stella Pickens (RBI single), Natalie Hurst (two-run triple), and Karleigh Beth White (RBI double) — to put five runs on the board and seize full control of the game.
White didn’t just do damage with the bat. She also silenced the Lady Bruins from the circle, striking out five in just two innings of work without giving up a run. Pickens came on in relief to keep USJ in check the rest of the way.
Offensively, it was a team effort. The Eagles racked up 13 hits, with Lizzie Patterson going a perfect 3-for-3 out of the seven spot. Hurst drove in three runs, while White and Pickens both chipped in multiple hits to fuel the attack.
From the first inning on, the Lady Eagles played with confidence and never gave USJ a chance to climb back in. It was the kind of complete win that shows just how dangerous this team can be when their bats and arms are both clicking.
