American Legion Davidson-Haltom Post 157 in Henderson will present a special celebration titled “Humor in Uniform” at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Henderson City Hall, 121 Crook Ave. in Henderson.
“While we will salute all veterans of our nation’s wars, this year’s ceremony will especially focus on some of the humorous stories that all veterans accumulate during their military service,” the release stated. “We’ll have fun making fun of the different military services, the people involved, and ourselves.
“With patriotic music, proclamations, special videos, jokes, and laughter, this observance will remind us all of what it means to be an American and have access to the promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and to be able to participate in the political process and civic life unencumbered.”
The public is encouraged to attend the one-hour ceremony and show their appreciation for the sacrifice our veterans have made of their time, and often their lives, in service to and defense of this great country.
