Ruby Imogene Dyer Haltom, 95, of Henderson passed away Oct. 30, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Hearns Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Ben Flatt officiating.
The family received friends at Hearns Chapel Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
She was born Dec. 16, 1929, in the Glendale Community of Chester County, daughter of the late Lloyd and Lena Bain Dyer. She attended Chester County Schools.
She married Leo Haltom on May 29, 1946. Mr. Haltom was a career Military man. They traveled and made their home in various places but especially in Fort Walton Beach and Ardmore, Okla. When he retired, they returned to Chester County in 1969. Mr. Haltom preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1986.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who spent her years taking care of family. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles, crosswords and flowers. She loved children. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys.
She was blessed to be physically active and healthy up until her recent fall. She was a pet lover. She had many cats and dogs and leaves behind her beloved dog Leroy.
She is survived by sons, Michael (Sandy) Haltom and Randy Haltom, all of Henderson; daughters, Barbara Haltom and Patricia Haltom, both of Henderson; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Griffin, Dustin (Laura) Haltom, Crystal (Matt) Matthews and Danielle (Ryan) Mays; great-grandchildren, Chase Dyer, Mia Dyer, Grant (Mary Emilee) Matthews, Makenzie (Tyler) Pitts, Maleigha Mays and Rylee Mays; great-great grandchild, Harper Pitts; brother, Wayne Dyer of Knoxville; and sisters, Lavelle (Raymond) Bellamy of Knoxville and Mary Lee Guyon of Enville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Willis Dyer; and great-grandchild, Jaxon Cooper Mays.
