James Anthony White, 68, passed away surrounded by his devoted wife and children. Funeral services will be at the Henderson church of Christ at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, with a private burial to follow at White Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue and then from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Born and raised in Memphis, he touched countless lives through his work as a commercial sign and graphics producer and as a remarkable family man.
He was a man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering faith. To those who knew him, he left a lasting impression as an upright follower of Christ. His love, generosity and devotion to his family will continue to live on through his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 45 years, Susan Cantrell White; his children, Lindley (Clay) Carpenter, Austin (Mallory) White, Lincoln White, Ian (Kassi) White and Spencer (Blake) Terry; 17 beloved grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (John) White Traini of Hershey, Pa.; and many treasured nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Archie and Eleanor Blanche White, and sisters, Carolyn Majkrzak and Eleanor White.
