Martha Jane Stewart Flatt, 68, of Henderson passed away Feb. 21, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Jeremy Arnold officiating.
Burial followed at Unity Cemetery at Jacks Creek.
The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Friday.
She was born Nov. 15, 1953 in Henderson, the daughter of the late William Harlie and Geneva Conder Stewart. She was a 1971 graduate of Chester County High School.
She also attended West TN Business College in Jackson earning an accounting certificate. She later attended Jackson State Community College. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson.
She married Charles Flatt on Sept. 23, 1972, and he preceded her in death in 2000.
She owned and operated Superior Accounting Service for 41 years and then worked for the State of Tennessee for 13 years, retiring in 2017.
She enjoyed going to the mountains and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her dog Carter.
She is survived by a son, Brad Flatt of Henderson; one daughter, Brandi Price of Selmer; grandchildren, Zach Brasfield, Dalton Brasfield, Clay Brasfield, Logan Price and Chelsey Price; great-grandchildren, Tatum Dove and Jordyn Oaks; a brother, Fay Stewart of Henderson; one sister, Ann (Teddy) Hollin of Milledgeville; a niece; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Joe Stewart.
