Janice Elaine Keen, 75, of Enville passed away Dec. 6, 2023, at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Tanner Garrison officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Knob Cemetery at Finger. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday and beginning at noon Sunday until service time.
She was born July 30, 1948, in Enville, the daughter of the late Clyde “Pete” Wilson and Betty Jo Baker Ramey. She grew up in Enville and was a graduate of Chester County High School.
She worked for UPS in Memphis for a time and then transferred to Nashville and was very proud to have become The First Woman Supervisor.
She married Danny Ray Keen on July 31, 1980. They made their home in Enville. She then attended Jackson State Community College and earned her LPN Degree. She loved nursing and worked at Chester County Nursing Home for several years.
Serving God was her highest priority in life; she was a member of Solitude Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the piano. She was also a member of The Eastern Star. She loved her kids and grandkids and enjoyed planting flowers and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Keen of Enville; three sons, William Bryan (Stacy) Keen of Henderson, Tommy Ray Keen of Selmer and Steven Dewayne (Leslie) Keen of Michie; a daughter, Janice Renea (Kevin) Byford of Henderson; one brother, Rickey (Ronnie) Ramey of Robertsdale, Ala.; grandchildren, Luke, Halle, Noah, Nathan and Taylor Keen and Dallas and Houston Horton; and great-grandchildren, William Rebstock, Sandra and Houston Nicole Horton and Aubrey Ray.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Jonathan Ray.
