Chester County had its chances Friday night, but one big inning by Jackson Christian was the difference in a 9-5 loss.
The Eagles answered early. After giving up two runs in the top of the first, Chester County quickly responded to tie the game. Jaden Weaver reached and helped set things up, and Braylin Robinson drove in a run as the Eagles evened things at 2-2.
Chester County took the lead in the second inning, going up 3-2 after taking advantage of a mistake in the field, but it wouldn’t last.
Jackson Christian put together a big third inning, scoring four runs to swing the game back in its favor. The visitors added a couple more in the next inning and stayed in control from there.
Chester County kept putting the ball in play. The Eagles finished with 11 hits on the night. Lane Estes led the way with three hits, while Jaden Weaver and Ross Hopper each had two. Braylin Robinson added an RBI, and Ethan Burks reached base several times and scored twice.
The Eagles pushed a run across in both the sixth and seventh innings but couldn’t get any closer.
RJ Patel worked most of the game on the mound for Chester County and struck out seven.
