It was a full slate of basketball for Chester County Junior High last week as both the Eaglettes and Eagles faced three games in four days, taking on Hardin County, Adamsville, and Decatur County.
GIRLS RECAP
The Eaglettes opened the week on the road Monday at Hardin County, competing hard but unable to come away with the win. They returned home on Tuesday to face Adamsville, showing improvement and stretches of solid play, but ultimately falling short. On Thursday, Chester County hosted Decatur County and again battled throughout, but the visitors pulled away late, handing the Eaglettes their third loss of the week.
With a break in the schedule over Thanksgiving, the Eaglettes will have time to regroup before entering the final stretch of the regular season. They have three games remaining, beginning at home against Whiteville on December 1, followed by a road trip to TCA on December 4, before closing the season in the Best of the West Tournament.
BOYS RECAP
The Eagles opened their week with a tough road matchup at Hardin County on Monday, where they came up short against a strong Tigers squad. Tuesday’s home game against Adamsville, however, brought one of the most exciting moments of the season so far. Chester County battled into overtime, and with key plays down the stretch, the Eagles secured a 38–33 win over the Cardinals.
On Thursday, the Eagles wrapped up the week hosting Decatur County. Despite a strong effort and solid stretches on both ends of the floor, Chester County was unable to overcome the visitors, finishing the week with a 1–2 record.
Both teams now look ahead to December, hoping to build momentum and finish the season strong as they prepare for the Best of the West Tournament.
