Jimmie Howard “Jimmy” Tedford of Pinson passed away July 11, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital on hospice care after battling a long illness. Graveside services were 3:30 p.m. Tuesday July 15, at Rogers Cemetery with Bro. Dylan McMinn officiating. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel on from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born April 10, 1946, in Pinson, son of the late Joe and Margie Tedford. He attended Pinson Elementary School and South Side High School in Jackson. He was a part of the graduating class of 1965.
He began his farming operation in 1972 with farms in Madison and Chester County. He was a member of Pinson Baptist Church. He was the beloved “Papa” his grandchildren and great-grandchildren
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years, Brenda Jones Tedford; three children, Matt (Kim) Tedford, Christie (Michael) Stewart and Becky (Tim) Tedford; a brother, Charlie Harold (Rhonda) Tedford; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Neal and Margie Tedford; a brother, Teddy Wayne Tedford; and one nephew, Richard Tedford.
