Posted

Joshua Wayne Byrum, 40, of Pinson passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with burial at Chapel Hill in Lexington.
The family received friends at Crook Avenue from noon until 2 p.m. service time Wednesday.
He was born in Jackson to the late Cory Wayne Byrum and Amelia Inell Middleton New. He was raised in Pinson and graduated from Southside High School.
If you wanted to know anything about cartoons, he was your guy! He could spend hours cheering on his favorite Pokeman as they battled and grew stronger and even saw himself as a Power Ranger.
He also had a wild side – a love for scary movies. When he was not watching his favorite cartoons, he had a love for the Smoky Mountains. Even though he went there every year, each trip was a new adventure.
He loved his family, especially his grandfather, James David Middleton, as well as his many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by uncles, Van Middleton, David (Becky Jean) Middleton, Andy (Dana) Middleton, Mikey Middleton and Walter (Sherry) Byrum; and an aunt, Kim (Bo) Pierce.
