Posted

A juvenile has been charged following a wreck at Dollar General, 426 E. Main St., on Saturday.
According to a Henderson Police Department press release, officers with the HPD responded to a vehicle crash in the parking lot of Dollar General at approximately 4:12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. On scene, it was determined the vehicle that had contributed to the crash had four occupants. None of the occupants received what appeared to be serious injuries at the time. Through investigation, witness statements and video footage from surrounding businesses, it was determined that a 2009 Audi, driven by a juvenile, was traveling west on Main Street in the eastbound lane at a high rate of speed. The vehicle entered McDonald’s exit area, struck a large orange barrel and continued through the crossover access, then striking a curb, causing the vehicle to then continue with only two wheels touching the pavement. The vehicle then entered the Dollar General parking lot, striking the poles around the Dollar General sign at which point the vehicle spun around, slid backwards and struck a parked vehicle causing the parked vehicle to slide backwards several feet where both vehicles came to a rest.
The juvenile driver is being charged in Chester County Juvenile Court with reckless driving, three counts reckless endangerment, failure to maintain proper lane, violation of intermediate license and three counts of vandalism.
This incident is under active investigation. The information contained in the press release is subject to change. Additional details will be released as they become available.
