Kenneth “Ken” Robert Golson, Sr., 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Henderson, on July 18, 2026. A memorial service will be held at Henderson Church of Christ in Henderson, on Saturday, Aug. 8. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m. The family is grateful for the many prayers, expressions of sympathy, and acts of kindness shown during this time.
He was born on March 28, 1938, in Montgomery, Ala. A man of deep faith, unwavering integrity and steadfast devotion to his family, he lived a life marked by service to both God and country.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960, where he trained as an aircraft mechanic. That training led to a distinguished 32-year career with Delta Air Lines where he was respected for his skill, dedication and strong work ethic.
His greatest passion was serving the Lord. For the past 20 years, he was a faithful member of the Henderson Church of Christ. During the 40 years prior, he served as an elder in four congregations from the Atlanta, Ga., area to Florida, providing spiritual leadership, encouragement, and compassionate care to countless members. His quiet faith and humble example left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He will be remembered for his faithful service, gentle spirit, steadfast love for his family and unwavering commitment to his Christian faith. His legacy of love, humility and service will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynne Golson; his four children, Debbie (Allen) Nichols of Hartwell, Ga., Ken (Sandra) Golson, Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla., Ellen Golson Mash of Greer, S.C., and Jeff (Lisa) Golson of Dyersburg; 10 cherished grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great joy and pride.
