The Chester County Lady Eagles wrapped up a busy week of basketball with two home games, falling to Jackson Christian on Tuesday night before pushing Madison to the final moments on Friday, Dec. 12.
Tuesday vs. Jackson Christian
Chester County hosted Jackson Christian on Tuesday night but struggled to overcome a slow start, falling 54–28.
JCS opened the game with a 20–0 first-quarter run. The Lady Eagles responded with 13 points in the second period but still trailed 33–13 at halftime. Chester County continued to battle in the second half, adding 9 points in the third quarter and 6 in the fourth, but JCS maintained control throughout.
Makayla Bridges led the Lady Eagles with 6 points, followed by Esther Osburn with 5. Savannah Williams and Kloe Taylor each contributed 4 points.
Friday vs. Madison
Chester County showed resilience Friday night at home, pushing Madison to the final buzzer before falling 52–46.
Madison held slim leads early, edging Chester County 9–7 after the first quarter and 23–18 at halftime. The Lady Eagles closed the gap in the third quarter, trailing just 32–30 entering the final period.
Chester County made a late surge in the fourth quarter behind Kloe Taylor, who scored 7 points in the final frame and finished with a game-high 16 points. Despite the rally, Madison held on for the win.
The Lady Eagles received balanced scoring support from Leura Rowsey with 8 points, while Savannah Williams, Esther Osburn and Makayla Bridges each added 6 points. Chester County shot efficiently from the free-throw line, converting 11-of-14, and connected on seven 3-pointers.
Up Next - The Lady Eagles return to action Monday, Dec. 15, hosting Crockett County, before traveling to Liberty on Tuesday, Dec. 16, and Scotts Hill on Thursday, Dec. 18. Chester County will then compete in the Huntingdon Christmas Tournament on Dec. 27, 29–30.
