The Chester County Library Summer Reading Program Kick-Off was held on Saturday, June 8. The event included the Foam Crew and featured Just Chillin Snowball Co. who sold New Orleans style snowballs, which were very popular with the crowd. Children who attended loved crafting with different paints and the most popular event was the bubble toys.

The Chester County Library hosted a Story Time Program event on Tuesday, June 11, with special guest Rocky T the Reading Ranger. The event was hosted by West TN’s PBS/PBS kids, the home of Rocky T the Reading Ranger.
Jennifer Medford led the event and read the children’s book Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: Daniel and the Firefighters to the large crowd that showed up from the community.
Proceeding, all the families and children gathered to get in line to take pictures, one by one, together with Rocky T the Reading Ranger. Some children got excited, others cried, were scared, and one child even proceeded to pet Rocky T really admiring his fur. It’s safe to say, no matter what reaction, Rocky T had all eyes on him the entire event.
This Summer, Medford and Rocky T will visit 13 libraries in Tennessee and will donate 100 books to each library they visit. To keep up-to-date with Rocky T the Reading Ranger, visit westtnpbs.org.
All Chester County Library story time programs begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the library (unless otherwise indicated), located at 1012 E Main St., for the 2024 Summer schedule.
The next Story Time Program will be “Guided Drawing Storytime with Mrs. Becky Hartle” on June 25.
