Mary Jane Plunk of Pinson passed away Aug. 8 at Maplewood Healthcare in Jackson.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Shackelford Funeral Directors Crook Avenue with burial following at Maggie Jones Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at noon Wednesday.
She was born in Finger, the daughter of the late Henry Howard Plunk, Sr. and the late Bonnie Lee Wright Plunk. She grew up in Finger and went to school in McNairy County, graduating from high school there.
She worked in Jackson at Proctor and Gamble in the lab as a cake tester for several years. She was a crane operator at AmeriSteel and then as custodial engineer for Southwest TN Electric in Henderson for about 10 years until she retired.
She leaves behind her beloved dog and companion, “J.J.” She enjoyed watching television.
She is survived by a son, James Bradley (Sheri Marsh) Gray; one sister, Allie Mae (Dennis) Henry of Bethel Springs; and two grandchildren, Olivia Austin Gray and Isaac Bradley Gray.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, M.E., David, Isaac, Buford, Junior and Dewayne; and four sisters, Laverne Watson, Dorothy Redden, Minnie Lee Davis and Blondell Powers.
