Margaret Holt Davis, 89, of Jackson passed away at her home on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Funeral services were noon Wednesday, July 15, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel.
Burial followed at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
The family received friends at Crook Avenue Chapel on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon service time.
She was born in Henderson County on Jan. 1, 1937, daughter of the late Clifton and Rusha Pirscilla Blakney Holt. She grew up in Beech Bluff and graduated from Beech Bluff High School in 1955.
She married Harrial Davis at the Chester County Court House on Jan. 10, 1974. They had been married for 47 years until his passing in 2023.
She worked at Oakley Garment Factory and Benedix for around 30 years.
She loved horses and going to horse shows. Believe it or not, she even liked picking weeds! She loved each of her grandchildren, some would say even more than her own children. She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Shane (Kristin) Barnett of Brighton and Roy Darrell (Susie) Elder of Jackson; daughter, Deborah Garner of Jackson; sister, Melba Jo Kendall; brother, Jerry Holt; six grandchildren, Dustin (Karisa) Garner, Nick (Jessica) Elder, Daniel (Terrie) Elder, Caitlyn (Nick) Young, Morgan Barnett and Hunter Barnett; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Kenneth and Coy Holt.
