Mary Anne Hailey Callis, 78, of Henderson passed away March 29, 2025, at her home. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Marc Hall and Hunter Callis officiating with burial following at Maple Springs Cemetery at Medon. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. service time Saturday at Grace Baptist Church.
She was born July 30, 1946, in Jackson, the daughter of the late Robert Lavoyd and Willie Mae Hunter Hailey. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1964. She attended Union University from 1964 to 1966 where she was a member of CHI OMEGA fraternity. She married the love of her life, Charles Harold Callis on Dec. 18, 1966. She graduated from Memphis State in 1968 with a teaching degree. They made their home in Germantown for over 40 years. She taught school for eight years and was a real estate agent for 26 years. They moved to Henderson in 2010.
She was saved in the third grade, in 1955, while attending West Jackson Elementary. She was currently a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She enjoyed tennis and continued to play to the age of 66. She enjoyed antiquing and was always involved in Bible study wherever they lived.
She is survived by a son, Hunter (Karen) Callis of Henderson; one daughter, Melinda (Joe) Crivello of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Aubrey (Jenna) Williams, Rosie Crivello, Leo Crivello and Colston Callis; a great-grandchild, Solene Williams; and one brother, Max (Sarah) Lavoyd Hailey Tullahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Callis in 2020; and an infant sister, Carol Jane Hailey.
