The life and service of former Mayor Eddy Patterson was remembered Monday with the installation of a memorial at Henderson City Hall. City of Henderson Mayor Terry Bell expressed the meaning behind the honor.
“Mayor Eddy Patterson served our city as Mayor and City Judge for most of my life. He was a working Mayor, meaning he was as likely to be seen on a bulldozer as to be seen behind a desk. He knew construction as well as municipal government. During his tenure Henderson expanded and the city’s utility infrastructure grew rapidly. We have placed a framed photo of Mr. Eddy building a street with a grader along with an old Jackson Sun article about this project in the City Hall. We wanted to honor his service and remember him as the ‘working Mayor’ that got things done. We are so happy we were able to have Mrs. Judith Patterson, Kimberly, and Kindra at the unveiling. Mayor Patterson loved his family and the City of Henderson. We love him and are happy to honor him today.”
