Michael “Mike” Wayne Arnold died at his home on March 1, 2026, with his wife and son at his side. A memorial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel. The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. service time.
He was born in Orangeburg, S.C., on July 18, 1956, son of James “Jim” Arnold and Betty Darnell Arnold Bozard. He attended schools in Volusia County, Fla., and Orangeburg, S.C., before moving to Henderson in 1972 and attending Chester County High School. He worked in the heating and air conditioning trade all his life. He owned and operated businesses in both South Carolina and Henderson. He married Martha Malone in 1996. He was a member of Finger Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Arnold; his son, Michael (Lisa) Arnold, Jr., of Henderson; one granddaughter, Haven Arnold; three sisters, Susan (Wayne) Ethridge of Orangeburg, S.C., Pattie (Thomas) Gilham of Jacks Creek and Stacy Scott of Piedmont, S.C.; four brothers, Ryan (Mary) Arnold of Kingsport, TN, Jerry (Lucy) Arnold of Pinson, Paul (Ruth) Arnold of Henderson and Tracy (Kerry) Arnold of Milan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
