Hello to all from this little corner of the world. Monday was a beautiful day!
The sun was shining, and the sky was light blue with an occasional light breeze. It was supposed to be stormy Tuesday, and then we have a few days reprieve before an increased chance of rain again. The temperatures are forecasted to be mostly in the 70’s until May 30 and then will jump into the 80’s. We had some hungry little birds Sunday. James’s prothonotary warbler is back and has laid two eggs. The mom and dad are both working on their little family, and James is watching after them too. One year, a snake came up on the deck headed for the birdhouse, but so far, so good.
We attended our great-granddaughter Laiken’s dance recital yesterday at Carl Perkins Civic Center. It was obvious a LOT went into the performance. The dancers did a fantastic job! We enjoyed the music chosen for the dances also. This was put on by Valerie Spragins School of Dance. I believe she began this journey with a dance studio 38 years ago and is now retired and has turned the reins over to Grant Hart. The parking lot was overflowing! One elevator was stuck, so it was a lot of walking. The weather also cooperated for the event. We are very blessed to still be on this earth to enjoy these blessings in life. We never know from one day to the next, so give thanks for every blessing seen and unseen.

“Take a Peek” by Diane Ranker Riesen: “Take a peek and look around/stay silent...and just see/every single thing I find/is a miracle to me/Soft and calming, powdered clouds/wrap around the skies/a million different insects/open up their wings and fly/The sun shines brightly gold and warm/while I soak in its power/it sends some light from Heaven/and it strengthens every flower/I see a tiny bunny/jumping freely in the yard/These miracles are seen so clear/it isn’t very hard/Just take the time to see the view/remember every day/Watch the oak leaves swaying/and see the children play/I feel a soft breeze on my cheek/and think of simple air/It’s such an unseen blessing/as it rustles through my hair/And then, of course, the babies/no words describe the joy/of hearing sounds of laughter/from every girl and boy/The proof of God is everywhere/I need to always see/all our world is made of/every gift that’s sent to me.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
