Hello to all from this little corner of the world. Sunday was a beautiful sunny day with light blue skies and white clouds. The yard has been mowed like many others have done. Our hydrangeas are beautiful, blue and wonderful with large blooms. My flowers on the deck are suffering a little; I think it is because of a lack of sunshine. I have petted them and will give them a little nutrition to help them hopefully flourish. We have two prothonotary baby birds and one shell that never opened. The parents of the baby birds were working hard to keep the babies fed. Friday night, James looked out and saw a snake with its head in the birdhouse on the deck. He went out and yanked that thing right out of the birdhouse and slung it across the deck. He said it was a corn snake - ain’t no corn on my deck! Anyways, the mama bird is gone - sad. The baby birds are still with us. The daddy does not sit but does work hard to feed. He knows the mother is gone because James saw him looking around for her - sad. James brought the treehouse/birdhouse inside last night due to cool temperatures, and the dad returned this morning. We love nature.
We had a good sermon at Friendship Baptist Church Sunday. The title was “Contentment.” Do you have unrealistic expectations? Unfair comparisons (different but not less than)? Unrecognized blessings? Uncontrolled ambition? Sources of contentment, be grateful for what you have. Seek to please Jesus, not other people. Love people and show concern for them. This is food for thought.
VBS is from 6-8:30 p.m. June 9-12. We look forward to seeing all those children coming to learn about the Lord, eating and having fun learning.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones.
Happy birthday to Karen Connor and Chuck Berry, 5-31.

“Dear Lord, thank You for all the times You have helped us keep going when we wanted to quit. Thank You for helping us overcome things we didn’t think we could survive. You are a good and faithful Father, and we are grateful for all You have done in us, and through us. As we face new challenges, losses, and struggles, help us not to succumb to hopelessness, anxiety, worry, or despair. Help us always to be mindful of Your promises and past deeds. Help us remember we are never under our circumstances but always under Your watchful eye and the shelter of Your wing. We praise You for all You do and all You are. We are grateful for the assurance that we are overcoming children of The King and victory is ours because we are Yours. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.” – “Hope For The Brokenhearted” by Debbie Kaye

People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
