Hello to all from this little corner of the world. Sunday was partly cloudy and rainy. We had a thunderstorm here a few days ago, but south Jackson was sunny. I guess it rains where it is needed most. Our son’s rain gauge showed three inches total that one afternoon. It is the end of June, and I wish everyone a wonderful July.
I had my surgery on Monday and came home Wednesday afternoon. Thank God it is over, and now I am on to healing. It was a tough surgery, but I do not think there is an easy one. I cannot believe I gained 10 pounds in three days due to surgery. Shock! It is the body’s reaction to surgery and adjustment to what was done. It will just take time to heal. Thanks for the prayers.
Happy Fourth of July! Another year of freedom for our country, and prayers that we never lose those freedoms. Thanks to all who have fought for this freedom. Enjoy life as it changes from day to day and give thanks for the blessings in life – they ARE there! Stay safe!
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. Prayers for all those suffering with their own issues.

“Security” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “What a glorious morning, Lord, I woke up to Your ‘love’/and I can feel Your comfort…all Your help sent from above/Even if this day seems wrong, and problems come my way/I know You’ll be right with me…to get me through the day/What comfort knowing You are there -such peace within my soul/to know I always have You to guide my way and show/what I should do when I’m afraid; or feeling very torn/I know You’ve always been with me; each day since I’ve been born/And I can make it with your help - no matter what life brings/I’ll pray to You and offer up each sad and troubling thing/Thank You, Lord, for being here; I know my day’s secured/You’ve always rescued me from every sorrow I’ve endured/What peace to know I have You…what a gift I have in You/I believe Your word is truthful - and believe each thing You do/I’ll trust You even in the midst of daunting trials that come/for I have such security in knowing ‘You’re the One’!”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
