Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The temperature Sunday was 78 degrees and felt like 86 after a very good rain. The rain came through twice. It was partly cloudy with white clouds at the time of this writing. It had cooled down outside.
Saturday was our youngest son’s birthday, 7-12-83. He would have been 42 years old. He was funny, sweet and thoughtful and could talk to adults and kids alike. Before we moved here, Nick would ride his bike around the neighborhood, and one of the neighbors (a senior citizen) gave him the title of Mayor of the neighborhood. He loved helping others and enjoyed helping our neighbor here with the foster children she had. He would come home from school and want to go over there, and I would say, “But I haven’t seen you all day,” and he would say, “But Ms. Jean needs me.” Guess I could not argue with that. He worked on the church van with a cast on his leg and helped with the little ones at church. Such a giving child. We were blessed to be his parents. Time goes by so fast; we are so blessed and deal with the sad days as they come, holding to God’s unchanging hand. Never forgotten, always loved!
Condolences go to all who have lost loved ones and to those suffering in any way. Prayers for comfort, strength and hope that only God can give.
I am continuing to heal. The doctor said it would be six to eight weeks to heal and about six to eight months to feel like myself again. I am having issues with one incision now, but this too shall pass. Thanks to all for the food, cards, calls and prayers. There is one senior friend who has been through her own trials in the last year or two, and she has been so thoughtful to call and check on me and encourage me all the way! She had major issues but remained steadfast in faith and cheerful. She has been a great help to me, and I am certainly impressed by her unwavering faith! I have given her the nickname “Wonder Woman.” It truly fits her. Thanks again to all and God bless you as you bless others.

“HEART GIFTS” by Helen Steiner Rice: “It’s not the things that can be bought/that are life’s richest treasure/It’s just the little heart gifts/that money cannot measure/A cheerful smile, a friendly word/a sympathetic nod/Are priceless little treasures/from the storehouse of our God/They are the things that can’t be bought/with silver or with gold/For thoughtfulness and kindness/and love are never sold/They are the priceless things in life/for which no one can pay/And the giver finds rich recompense/in giving them away.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
