Hello to all from this little corner of the world. It was 48 degrees Saturday, and the skies were blue with a very slight breeze noted. The roads are mostly clear. Our road was almost clear on Saturday except for one stretch where shade hits. Main roads here and Jackson are clear. Every parking lot we saw was clear. There were a lot of people ordering pickup groceries at Walmart. I am sure after the long days at home with no way to drive on the ice/snow people needed to replenish. I was glad for church on Sunday, as it had been cancelled on Sunday and Wednesday due to the weather. I hope everyone fared well.
Condolences to all who have lost ones.
Ms. Ilene Page will celebrate her 100th birthday on Feb. 20 with a birthday party at Mifflin Baptist Church from 1-3 p.m. No gifts requested. They are hoping for 100 cards for this BIG occasion. Address is 2310 Brown School Rd. Huron, TN 38345.
Valentine’s Day is Saturday, Feb. 14. This is to remind those that need help remembering.
There is a new dog grooming business in town. Sudzee Pawz is located on the same side as Simmons Lumber and has a large sign posted at roadside. Her days and hours are flexible as she tries to accommodate the furbabies. Pepper did very good and looked so cute when we picked him up; plus, he smelled good, too. The groomer’s name is Norma. She opened in January, and I hope those who need a groomer will give her a try. You will NOT be disappointed.
Molly Gelinas was recently nominated to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference, an Envision by WorldStrides program to be held this summer, in Washington, D.C. She was nominated by her teacher, Megan Rinehart, who recognized Molly as a student who has achieved academic excellence and possesses strong leadership potential. It is a great opportunity, but as with many, there will be expense. If you can and desire to help her family monetarily, the link is give.envisionexperience.com, or if you have Facebook, a GoFund.me has been set up to help offset travel expenses.
I enjoyed the article written by TJ Kirk. There was a lot of truth, and it was an interesting read.
Thanks to all who worked to restore power and internet during the past winter storm. Also, thanks to the ones who helped provide warm places with food for those without. There are so many to thank, and I am sure I will miss someone. Thanks also to firemen, first responders, law enforcement and ambulance support. God bless you all.

Valentine’s Day Blessing: May we be the kindness that reminds someone that there’s still plenty of love in this world.
“Perhaps our purpose here on earth is not a grand accomplishment, but a small kindness, that we don’t think much of, that changes the life of another.” – Mary Davis
