New Friendship & Mifflin Community News

Posted

Hello to all from this little corner of the world. We had quite a bit of rain Saturday night. It was cloudy Sunday, and it had stopped raining about the time church was over. It was 51 degrees with a slight breeze noted. We have seen a robin and bluebird here at home, and someone else has seen robins and a red headed woodpecker. Spring is upon us. The next 10 days, the high temperatures should be in the 60s and 70s with a few 50s sprinkled in. February 22 and 23 show lows at night being 28 and 25 respectively. Easter will come early this year. It arrives April 5. Spring Break is scheduled for March 23-27. Enjoy each day as it comes. It is a gift to be thankful for despite any trials we are going through.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. Our hope, strength and peace come from the Lord alone. God bless each of you.
UPDATE: Birthday party on Feb. 21 was left out last week. I am sorry if this caused any inconvenience. Ms. Ilene Page will celebrate her 100th birthday on Feb. 20 with a birthday party from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 21 at Mifflin Baptist Church. No gifts requested. They are hoping for 100 cards for this BIG occasion. Address is 2310 Brown School Rd. Huron, TN 38345. Reminder to all who need one.
The Friendship Community Club will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 20. We will have a potluck meal, socialize and play games. Please come and enjoy a few hours of fun and fellowship. We meet every third Friday of the month.

“Love is patient and kind, love does not boast; it is not arrogant or rude; it does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
