Hello to all from this little corner of the world. It was 53 degrees and cloudy Monday with steady, light rain. The forecast is for warm days through next Tuesday, and then we drop into the mid-50s and 60s. There is an increased chance of rain around the weekend, but who knows? It is a forecast and not set in stone. As I have said in the past, I watch the weather forecast due to our early years. James worked at OCF, and when it closed, he worked construction, and it provided a good income but no benefits. Fortunately, I finished nursing school and provided our insurance. It also supplemented our income when weather did not permit him to work. He loved construction and still talks about it often. He drew up the plans for our home we are in now and sub-contracted some of the jobs out as he continued to work. Jeremy, our son, became a journeyman electrician at the age of 21. He and his dad did a lot of the work on our house, and then a year later, Jeremy and Misti built their house. I think trade school is great for those that are interested. You can progress into other things during life if that is your desire and you pursue it. The older folks will be retiring, and there must be others to continue in these trades. They will always be needed, and another perk is that you can repair a lot of your own issues as time goes on. Hopefully, you will pick a vocation that you will be happy in and that will provide your needed income. Remember – if you go into a job for the money, you may be temporarily happy, but money should not be your life and goal.
Daylight Savings Time begins Saturday night. Be sure to turn your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed so you will be on time for most things.
We went to Jackson Saturday with my sister to see “I Can Only Imagine 2.” It was a great show. It is a true story, sincere and thought-provoking. If you want to see it, go to Jackson (two theaters) or Lexington. We also ate at Texas Roadhouse after the movie. The wait was not long, but the place was very busy. Our food and service were great. The weather was beautiful, and it was a wonderful day, but I could not go to sleep Saturday night. I was up all night with an issue that would not let up. I just could not make it to church and went to bed at 7 a.m. when James got up. We went to church Sunday night but missed some special music on Sunday morning. Life is full of adjustments, and we just try and do the best we can.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones.

“Dear Lord, help me to see things as You see them. Help me to remember that You only have my best interests at heart. Forgive me when I am impatient and when I question, doubt and seek my will above Yours. Please help me to rest in You and to trust in Your timing and Your plan. I am grateful You see what I don’t and for the many ways You protect me and bless me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
