Hello to all from this little corner of the world. Sunday was Mother’s Day. The weather was gorgeous. The temperature was 80 degrees, birds were at the feeder, and the sky was a beautiful blue with white clouds.
We were able to attend church Sunday as James felt like he could after surgery last Friday. We also were able to hear our new preacher, Bro. Sonny Pierce. I really enjoyed the service and felt the Spirit with me. If you are looking for a church, please visit us. We have Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., and worship service at 10:30 a.m. with children’s church at that time. We would love to see you.
James is doing very good and will have several weeks of a progressive diet. He also has a limited lifting restriction. He has a follow up with the surgeon this week. Jeremy and Braxton are going to try and help with the grass for a couple weeks. I hope all mothers had a very good day. My mother has been gone since 2004, and I miss her dearly. I think of her every day! I also miss our youngest son, Nick; he has been gone since 1997. Life sure has a way of taking us down, but, in time and with prayer, we can enjoy life again and learn to live with the things that have brought us grief and the things we thought would destroy us but for GOD!
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. Memory Gardens, where our son is buried, was so pretty Saturday. There were a lot of beautiful flowers on graves with sweet memories attached and tears dropped. The lawn was freshly mowed, and the weather was perfect. My sister, Kathy, and I went this time to put flowers on Nick’s grave. I also am so thankful I have a sister to love, and I know she loves me. A wonderful blessing. Do we miss our son? YES! Will we always miss him? YES! How do we continue? GOD! Prayers are with each person that continues to grieve.

“Life’s Gifts” by Diane Ranker Riesen: “Never may my heart forget the memories of our years - Never may my mind replace the happiness - with tears. For nothing really worthwhile comes freely without pain...Every special moment will never come again. You were worth every worry, every trial spent, my friend - With all the joy you gave me; I would do it all again. Nothing’s ever guaranteed - although I wish it was...life is very broken; and we hurt from earthly cause. But, in the very end of things...when I sit back and think - I smile at every blessing - things can change each time you blink...and though this world is numbered, we must cherish every hour. The memories we hold inside will give us strength and power.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
