Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The sun was shining on Sunday with white clouds and light blue sky. We missed church due to me having dizziness. It has bothered me for about three days, and Sunday morning, I felt unsteady, so we went to Jackson Clinic Convenient Care this afternoon. I have an ear infection and am getting antibiotics. No other symptoms. Weird. It rained on us coming home on the bypass and some in south Jackson. Several have been able to mow, and their yards look good, but we can not get out there soon enough. James said that if he mows on wet grass the belt will come off. Anyway, we are waiting for the best time. I am having a procedure Wednesday. Prayers are appreciated.
We watched a lot of the Fourth of July celebrations. I loved the BIG ships! It was so very nice for other countries to represent and help our country celebrate our independence from Great Britain. The music was good. Although, I could not listen to the ABC music. It was too “out there”! I did enjoy FOX News and the music, fireworks and President Trump’s speech. I am very thankful to be born in this country. It was wonderful to see all the people gathered together for each site hosting. I thought of all the turmoil and evil every day and wondered why it could not be this way more throughout the year. I do realize that evil is and has been around for ages and will continue, but it would be grand if people cared and enjoyed life more as life is actually a short journey.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. I did receive news that Faye Connor’s brother Ray Hinson from Mississippi passed away and asked for specific prayers for the family.
Neil Smith’s pasture was cut neatly this week, and I LOVED seeing all those BIG round hay bales! Remember that I am a city transplant. I wonder what it would have been like to live in the country growing up. We had chores in the city – mowing the yard with a push mower and using hand clippers around the curbs and sidewalk, house and bushes. We also had to rake the yard if it piled up during mowing. We even had to sweep the street for safety and neatness. I will say that it made us better humans. We did not run the roads, but they say you do not miss what you never had. I wonder…
Margie and Carlis McGhee went to Marion, Ind., for the funeral of his sister. Tracy McGhee of Chattanooga visited his parents, Margie and Carlis, last week. His dad had a medical procedure.
Donna Latham, along with family and friends, has returned from a Disney cruise to Alaska.
Tom Nichols’ sister from Oklahoma recently visited with him and Cissy. Cissy also visited Lisa and Bill Cox in Jackson on Sunday.
Jason Haskins is recovering from a medical procedure that was done in Memphis.
Connor Utley and his bride-to-be, Nina Orihrcia, of Birmingham, Ala., visited Rachel Ellington, his grandmother. He drove Nina’s car, and they were on their way to St. Louis, Mo., where she will do a month of residency in a hospital with plans to be a doctor. Sarah Utley, Rachel’s granddaughter, visited Rachel for a few days last week. She is from Scottsborough, Ala., and getting ready for medical school in July. She will be attending the University of Alabama. Rachel Ellington, along with her daughter Marla Davidson, Brooklynn and Ellie Walls attended a bridal shower for Rachel’s granddaughter, Kendyl Davidson, bride-to-be of Jacob Jones on Saturday at First Baptist Church in Bolivar.
