Hello to all from this little corner of the world. It came a very good rain Sunday morning at our house, but it was clear at the time for church. It was also a hot, humid day, feeling like a sauna to me. I like 70 degrees year-round!
Our petunias are trying to survive, but they are spindly. I will not buy petunias for pots again. Lantana is a fantastic plant for the sun. It does need more water in a pot. I love flowers, and the hummingbirds enjoy them, but as we get older, we will cut back on them. The rain continues to be sporadic, and we got more Sunday evening. It was also in the forecast for Monday along with this sultry heat. Looking forward to cooler weather.
Well, we have a new puppy. He is a black, male, toy poodle. I have had three in 29 years, and he is very small. I think he is teacup size. I researched it, and the AKC does not recognize teacup as a breed and includes them under toy poodle breed. Our new furbaby’s name is Remi, short for Remington. James thinks of powder and gun stuff, and I think of Remington Steele. He is definitely good-natured. He is quiet but can bark and whine. The barking is at bedtime when he goes to his bedroom (aka crate in our bedroom). He had a wellness visit for Tuesday. I will have learned more about him then.
Happy birthday to Jared Blankenship, 7-17; Bliss Swayne and Nancy Morris, 7-19; Jamie Berry, 7-20; Bruce Morris, 7-21; Zack Eaton and Peggy King, 7-23; Tiffany, 7-25; and Boyd Cupples, 7-26.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. There is never a time when we are prepared to lose a loved one or to never see them again on this earth. Only God could bring me up from the lowest point I have ever had. The sadness lingers, but the days shorten for us. We are closer now than we were 29 years ago. God is my reason for living and then my family. We are so very thankful and blessed. God knows your heartaches, and prayers are with you. God bless.
Prayer requests for Donna Bishop, Walker Bishop, Bobby Bray, Chastity King, Darren Hatch, Danny and Gail Hodges, Doug Johnson, Alvin and Eva Jones, Kenneth Maness, Elaine Matthews, Harold Nobles, Julia Parchman, Beth Plunk, Pam Priddy, Jimmy Redden, Will Roberts, Teresa Tedford, Cheryl Tobey, John Webb, Charles and Natalie Wray. Also, remember our first responders, military, firefighters and law enforcement officers.
“If you’ve ever wondered what should stand out most about a Christian, Paul already answered it. Not how many verses we’ve memorized. Not how many debates we’ve won. Not how many opinions we’ve shared. Because when people look at our lives, the thing they should remember most isn’t how loudly we spoke the truth. It’s how clearly they saw the heart of Christ through us. Colossians 3:14” – Farmer Girl
I pray all of you will have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I’d truly appreciate any news. People from here and those that have moved from our area, still want to keep in touch through the newspaper and are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
