With the first full week of school behind us, we can start looking towards the future. And in that future, we can expect new, fun, and exciting fall sports seasons to keep us excited for the upcoming semester. One example of fall sports that will be highlighted today is the Chester County Football team. With the addition of new head coach Dewond Johnson, the Eagles are looking to take strides made last season and utilize these tools throughout this year and hopefully make a push to succeed not only in the regular season, but the playoffs as well. Last Friday, Coach Johnson and the Eagle took on the Riverside Panthers in the Riverside Football showcase where teams of all grade levels and ages were able to compete and show off their skills to the competition. The Eagles came up 3 points short in a hard fought loss to the Panthers with the final score being 24-21. Their first official game will be against the Fayette-Ware Wildcats on August 19th, at Fayette-Ware. The game will start at 7. This will be the first of a two game away stretch before the Eagles play their first home game of the season against the McNairy Bobcats September 2. Feel free to come out and support your Eagles anytime you can as they trek through this upcoming season.
I would like to thank the city of Henderson and Chester County for their continued support of us here at CCHS.
God Bless and Go Eagles!
