Every year, Chester County High School presents a Teacher of the Year award to recognize someone who has done outstanding work during the school year in hopes of shedding light on those who play a pivotal role in education. This year’s winner of the Teacher of the Year award is none other than James Carter. Mr. Carter is an auto mechanical maintenance and light repair teacher who teaches the classes of those who may not go to a 4-year university but maybe a trade or technical school. He is currently in his 11th year of teaching at CCHS and hopes to keep impacting his students’ lives for years to come.
Along the topic of awards, they announced a Teacher of the Month. The Teacher of the Month for January was Corey Sweatt. Mr. Sweatt is an Algebra teacher in his first year of teaching. When asked about Mr. Sweatt, a student at the high school had this to say about him, “Mr. Sweatt is one of those people who you can look forward to seeing every day. You can tell he really cares about what he is teaching and wants the best out of you.” Congratulations, Mr. Sweatt!
This week, the Chester County basketball teams look to keep up their district play as they have their final home game of the season. They square up against the Lexington Tigers on Friday, Feb. 10. This game will also be Senior Night where the school will recognize different seniors on the two respective teams. Be sure to come out and support your Eagles before they start the District Tournament!
I want to continue to thank the City of Henderson and Chester County for their continued support of us here at CCHS.
God Bless and Go Eagles!
