News from Chester County Middle School

Posted

By: Renee Thomas

I would like to welcome everyone back to school and extend a special welcome to all of our new students and their families. The staff and I are looking forward to another exciting year of learning at Chester County Middle School. I would also like to extend a welcome to our new staff members: Stephanie Mitchell (fifth), Erin Warren (fourth), Jennifer Crumby (fourth), Emily Pearson (fifth), Madison Haynes (fifth), Claire McNatt (SPED), Tylan Johnson (SPED) and Jennifer Hardin (interventionist).
You can expect periodic newsletters from the school, and the classroom teachers to keep you up to date as to what is happening here at CCMS and in the classrooms. Please help us by communicating with our school staff as well. A good way of staying up to date on school information is to visit our website at chestercountyschools.org and click on Middle School. From there you can find several sources of information that will keep you informed of all the happenings at CCMS. You can also visit our Facebook page.
Please complete and return the student emergency form page, and free/reduced lunch form; even if you do not think you will qualify, it could help us in the future to receive school wide benefits.
Our PTS has been busy collecting monetary donations from our parents and the community. If you would like to donate, please contact our officers - Tena Fields, Melanie Stoll, Heather Verduzco and Sunny Hughes for more information. We also have donation envelopes in the school office.
Fall picture proofs should have been received last week. Please make sure you make your purchases by Sept. 17. If your child missed picture day, there will be a make-up date for that, but it has not been determined at this time. We will post it as soon as we set the date. The fall proofs are the ones used for the yearbook.
If your child is absent for any reason, please call the school and let the secretaries know. According to our county policy, you are allowed five call in days in which a doctor’s statement is not required. There was a misprint in our school handbook that states seven, but it should be five.
Hopefully, buses will be back to normal soon. The bus drivers are doing their best to get the students home safely. It is hard when they do not have enough drivers and routes are changed almost daily to accommodate getting everyone home.
During dismissal, please remember that we have three pickup lines out in the front. It is very helpful if you keep your tag with who you are picking up in a noticeable place for our car rider monitors to see clearly. If you have a transportation change please call the office before 2 p.m.
We are excited to begin the 2022-23 school year at Chester County Middle School. We will strive to provide the best education possible for your child.
