Hello from Enville! As I write this on Monday, we are looking at some cold temperatures this week with rain, freezing rain, sleet or possibly snow. I am not sure what we had, but I am not looking forward to any of it. I think by Thursday afternoon it will all be over and hopefully have warmer temperatures and sunshine for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. That will be nice!
The Enville Community Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Enville Community Center. This is a potluck meal. If you are interested in your community, come, bring a dish and join us!
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department enjoyed their annual dinner at the Catfish Cabin last Saturday night. Chief Thomas Gilham went over the hours put in by the firefighters for the previous year. This is for fighting fires, meeting, working on trucks or whatever needs doing concerning the fire department. Danny Johnson had a few fire fighter trivia questions for them to answer for fun. Molly Marchbanks answered the most correctly with Thomas, Josh Trammell and Parker Herndon trailing behind. Each received a small bag of candy. There was a jar filled with “fire balls” for them to guess how many. James Vinson was the lucky guesser. It was fun for everyone. We are very proud of our firefighters; at times, while most folks are sleeping, they are out fighting fires while their spouses are at home praying for their safe return. Mayor Melinda Johnston and Pat Cates were in attendance from the town board.
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Tiffany Jones on Feb. 3, Teddy Hollin on Feb. 4, Delana O’Neal on Feb. 6 and Annie Beth Ashbrook on Feb. 8. Happy Anniversary to Rick and Julie Ooley on Feb. 5. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
