Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a great week! I sure am glad that nasty weather has passed and gave way to some warm and sunny days. The 2023 ice storm left limbs down, power lines broken and some without power. We were without power from about 4 a.m. until 5:50 p.m. Thursday. We had a generator going, so we were good, but, so many were not. I was just glad see it all melt away. The kids got a long break from school, which made them happy, but it was back to normal Monday.
Valentine’s Day is Feb. 14, which is known as a day of love. We shower the ones we love with gifts, flowers and candy. It is a day to show your friends and family how much they mean to you. As a child, it was always fun to exchange valentines in elementary school. It is a memory I will always have, and I hope they still get to do that!
The Enville Community Club met on Tuesday night. It was decorated for Valentine’s, and we had a Valentine program. We played games, did some Valentine trivia and gave gifts to those who won. We had lots of fun!
If you see these folks out and about, wish them a happy birthday - Keith Middleton on Feb. 10, Cameron Finley and Michael Swafford on Feb. 11, Mildred Goodwin on Feb. 12 and Michael Frank on Feb. 14. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Lisa Bishop, Tera O’Neal, Robert and Linda Johnson, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Harold and Janice Maness, Nicole Thompson, Amanda Johnson, Florence Stublaski, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Rick Ooley, Mike Pugh, Charlie Kent, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, James Vinson, Loretta Plunk, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Kathy Emerson, Joann Fowler, Dot Smith, Jimmy Robertson, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board and, as always, each other.
If you have news, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125. Have a great week everyone!
