Hello to my family and friends.
It is good to be with you on another day that the Lord has allowed us to see. Not only has He allowed us to see a new day, He has allowed us to be together one more time. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Well, Valentine’s Day is only a few days away. It is Feb. 14 just in case you forgot; hope you will not end up on the bad list this year. Make that day a very special day for the one you love!
Five years ago, on Feb. 6, 2018, we celebrated the last birthday party for a lovely and loving lady. She was 84 years old young. It was such a happy celebration with her sister, Auntie Betty, and her sister-in-love (not law), Auntie Georgia. They had so much fun together. Those three golden girls are back together at last in paradise. Yes, the children, grandchildren and so many others miss them all! However, you know what the good news is? The love and great memories we have of our loved ones in our heart still lives in the family and because of that they will continue to live through us (the family). Mrs. Annie Clay Bass-Brown would have been 89 years young on Feb. 6.
To all the thousand visitors that came to the City of Henderson for the 2023 Freed-Hardeman University Lectureship, we would like to welcome you to our City once again and hope you enjoy your visit. We welcome you!
You know one of my favorite saying is “Keep the honey in the moon.” This couple will be celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary. The bees have been very busy in this couple marriage! Mr. John and Mrs. Lillia Cawthon will celebrate on Saturday, Feb. 22. If you see this lovely couple, tell them congratulations! It is a blessing to know you as a loving couple. May the Lord bless them with many more years together. Congratulations and happy anniversary from the city of Henderson.
Congratulation to a very beautiful lady and a BIG SHOUT goes to Maleah Griggs. On January 27, she graduated and received her high school diploma from Gateway. Your grandmother, family and Ms. Gloria are so proud of you! The future is in the Lord’s and your hands. Do not stop now keep up the great JOB!

Dr. Saunders, thank you for your article remembering and honoring Black History! Thank you for sharing how important education was and how the slaves desired to receive an education! As we well know, Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. The article was outstanding! Looking forward for the next one!
The city would like to take this time to wish all of our loved ones in the Nursing Home, who had a birthday this week a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
On the prayer list this week: Ms. Valorie Griggs, Mrs. Mary Thomas had an accident, Mrs. Joe Ann Cawthon for her health, the Clayton family, children in school, teachers and the men and women that are serving our country. I have been trying to locate Mr. Bill Overway and family, but the phone number I have is not working. If anyone knows his daughter, Lisa, please have her to give me a call.
If you need assistance with your water bill in Chester County, SWHRA is still accepting applications. For more information, call SWHRA 989-5111.
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
