Hello to all from our little corner of the world! It was sunny on Saturday. There was an occasional, light breeze blowing, and the sky was blue with a few clouds noted. The temperature was 77 degrees, and it was cooler earlier of course. I love this time of year! I love the crispness of the fall air and am looking forward to the leaves changing colors. The birds were happy and singing this morning and visiting our feeders. James put new weather stripping around all outside doors this week. We are beginning to do odds and ends now. Cooler is wonderful. We went to see Braxton and the Chester County JV play Lexington Thursday night. It was a tight game. They were tied, and the game went into overtime, and Lexington won.
I did get a message from Loving Paws requesting help. Carol Preuss was hurt about a month earlier and has been rehabbing for her injuries. They need help. Any help at all would be appreciated because she is a no kill rescue. Ron is doing this by himself, and his wife, Carol, is in Memphis. He is there alone, trying to figure out something. This is a cry for help for the animals! I hope there are those out there who are able to help. We can not help unforeseen issues in our lives, and if it were not for their trying to care for these animals and go without some of their needs, these poor babies will be out in the cold. Her husband asked for me to reach out to you all for help. God bless those who care for animals.
I did not know that my aunt wrote for the Enville News at one time. I have a picture of an article she wrote on March 16, 1945. Her name was Virginia Colbert. She had a brother, Ralph Colbert. She married my uncle Marvin Maness. I met her mom and some of her family years ago. I loved her very much, and she was a smart woman. She cooked, sewed and saw after three boys. She was a very good cook. She made my sister and I some clothes, and I especially remember the Barbie clothes she made. She had a daughter Sheila later in life and also became an LPN later in life. She was a hard worker and loved antiques. She has passed now but will always remain in our hearts.

“If I Could Wish” by Diane Ranker Riesen - “If I would die in just a day, a week, a month or year - I know for sure where I would go…but there’s one thing I would fear…My fear would be for those I left - who have more life to live - I’m sure that they may miss me…but there’s much more they can give. Grief is such a puzzle and no person grieves the same - but I’d want their life enriched with ‘love’…just because I came. There is a time and season - to work around each loss….but the sorrow cannot steal your joy - our time was worth the cost. For if I could grant one great wish while at My Father’s side…I’d hope your life would never hurt - just because I died. Remember each and every laugh - and also joyful tears…and let me watch you flourish…as you finish out ‘your’ years. Earth is just a stepping stone…it’s really not the start - we have that time to learn and grow - and dedicate our heart….to what awaits us after…in a space that never ends - you just can’t see me there right now - but we will join again!”
